Rep Obasa calls on security agencies to rescue Oniba of Iba


Following the report of the abduction of Oniba of Iba, Oba Goriola Oseni by an unknown gunmen, the lawmaker representing Ojo Federal Constituency, Hon. Tajudeen Obasa has called on the security agencies to intensify efforts in rescuing the first class monarch.

The copy of the motion presented at the floor of the lower legislative chamber is made available to journalists by his media aide, Mr Opeyemi Ahmed.

In the motion moved, the lawmaker informed the House how the revered monarch was abducted, also informed them that the taking away by force of the monarch led to the death of one of his palace guards.

Obasa, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also briefed the House that a similar incident occurred involving the abduction of one of the grand children of the honorable member, who represented his constituency in the Sixth Assembly, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi. Unfortunately, the where about of his grandchildren is yet to be ascertained.

Hon. Obasa called on the Inspector General of Police to mobilize detachment of its men to conduct a wide and strategic search in ensuring prompt rescue of the monarch and other reported cases.

Also he called on the Chief of Naval Staff, Ibok Etelbas to put effective surveillance on the waterways to forestall future attacks.

The lawmaker also urged the House to observe a minute silence to honor the two individuals who lost their lives as a result of the kidnapping. The Speaker of the House, RT. Hon. Yakubu Dogara granted the request.‎
